Breaking Bad Food Habits: Team Health Care Staff Experiences the Many Benefits of Detoxification

I thought I would use my blog post to update you on the status of the detoxification program some of our staff have started.  For those who haven’t been following on our Facebook page, several of us decided to follow through on a New Year’s resolution and undergo a detoxification program.  We decided upon the 21 day program recommended by the nutrition company Standard Process.  This program uses nutritional supplements to aid in removing toxins or “junk” from our bodies by assisting the liver and colon in doing their jobs.  It also involves a diet high in fruits, vegetables and lean meats as well as avoiding junk foods.

Body WeightThe holidays are generally a green light for eating what you want without guilt.  It’s a time for family gatherings, sentimental traditions, neighborhood and work parties.  Specialty foods are prepared and served.  It’s cookie season.  There are temptations around every corner!
